About Us
We’re committed to providing high-quality continuing education conferences on topics such as affordable housing, community development, tax credits, renewable energy, and other areas of government-assisted development. Our instruction-based educational seminars are designed to serve many industries, including real estate development, accounting, law, government, management, energy, and financial services, such as, lending and equity investment. Our faculty members are nationally recognized authorities in their fields, and their informed presentations are complemented by extensive practical experience. Thousands of executives and professionals from across the United States have attended IPED programs. All IPED conferences are eligible for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit.
Our History
Founded in 1975 by Charles Edson and Bruce Lane, the Institute for Professional and Executive Development, LLC (IPED) was created to promote affordable housing and community development throughout the United States, and to educate industry participants. Both men are currently senior counsel at Nixon Peabody. IPED's board of directors includes Nixon Peabody partner Greg Doran and Strategic Policy Advisor Deborah VanAmerongen. IPED is an affiliate of Nixon Peabody LLP.
Website Photography
Photographer: Forrest Milder
The photos featured in the banner on the front page of the website, as well as on
the click through pages, were all taken by Forrest Milder, one of IPED’s frequent
faculty members and a tax partner in Nixon Peabody’s Tax Credit Finance and Syndication practice.
All photos featured are of people who have participated in IPED conferences over
the past several years. Forrest, whose father was a professional photographer, has
been taking photographs since his sister gave him a camera for his 13th birthday,
and we at IPED are thrilled that he has given us access to his library of photos
to showcase them on our website.
